Senior PA officials emphasize that elections for the Legislative Council are expected to take place at the end of November, but set a series of conditions for their holding. The opposition to Mahmoud Abbas / Abu Mazen fears: "This is a way to postpone the elections again."

A new poll reveals a sharp decline in support for Hamas and a deep crisis of confidence in Abu Mazen and the Palestinian Authority. On the other hand, the majority of the public still opposes the disarmament of Hamas and expresses support for Iran and the Houthis.

Abu Mazen is promoting moves intended to thwart Hamas from running as a party. The terrorist organization may boycott the voting process. Marwan Barghouti is expected to run next year for the position of PA Chairman.
