Israeli Police Foil Car Theft Targeting TV Stars in Ramat HaSharon
Israeli police foiled an attempted car theft targeting television personalities Yael Bar Zohar and Guy Zu-Aretz in Ramat HaSharon, arresting an illegal Palestinian minor equipped with advanced electronic hacking tools.

A 17-year-old Palestinian minor from Tulkarm, staying in Israel illegally, was caught red-handed by the Israel Police in Ramat HaSharon while attempting to steal a vehicle belonging to well-known media personalities Yael Bar Zohar and Guy Zu-Aretz. The incident unfolded late Saturday night on HaGefen Street.
According to police suspicions, the suspect did not act alone but was part of an organized theft ring utilizing a synchronized two-step method. The sequence began when the monitoring center of the Ituran tracking company detected an unauthorized intrusion into the celebrity couple's vehicle and immediately alerted the police emergency dispatch.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect managed to break into the car, bypass its security systems, and start the engine. However, instead of fleeing immediately, he moved on to a second nearby vehicle, apparently intending to steal both cars simultaneously with the aid of an accomplice waiting at the scene.
Rapid reporting from tracking systems prompted a swift deployment of Yarkon Subdistrict police forces. Patrol cars arrived within minutes, cordoned off the area, and apprehended the suspect before he could escape. A search of the vehicle revealed advanced technological equipment, including transmission devices and electronic hacking tools used to bypass locking mechanisms and start vehicles without original keys.
The suspect was handcuffed and transferred to the Glilot police station for further interrogation, facing charges of illegal presence, conspiracy to commit a crime, and attempted vehicle theft. Meanwhile, investigators are working to trace how the minor entered Israel and are searching for the accomplice involved in the plot.
