Highway 461 in Gush Dan Set for Five Night Closures Due to Light Rail Works
Highway 461 in Gush Dan will experience nightly closures starting Sunday for light rail Purple Line construction. Motorists face detours and upcoming permanent lane shifts.

Highway 461 in the Gush Dan region will be closed to vehicular traffic for five consecutive nights, starting Sunday night through Thursday, due to construction works for the Tel Aviv Light Rail's Purple Line in Or Yehuda and Yehud-Monosson. According to police announcements, the nightly closures will be in effect from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, impacting the section between the Mesubim Interchange and the HaTayarim Junction.
During these hours, Highway 461 will be shut down between Mota Gur Street and Rafael Eitan Street. Concurrently, traffic lanes in the area will be narrowed, and adjustments will be implemented for public transportation stops and bus routes.
In addition to the nightly closures, a new permanent traffic arrangement will come into effect on Wednesday, November 11, along Highway 461. Westbound traffic lanes will be diverted to the northern side of the road between Ben-Gurion Boulevard and Yigal Alon Boulevard.
The works are part of the ongoing infrastructure project to establish the Purple Line of the light rail system. Police have advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and utilize navigation applications such as Waze to check alternate routes.
