A dramatic police pursuit unfolded in Hod Hasharon as border police officers intercepted a stolen vehicle, leading to the arrest of three suspects following a foot chase between residential buildings.
The incident began during a joint operation by Central District Border Police and Kfar Saba police officers targeting vehicle thefts. Authorities spotted a suspicious individual in dark clothing walking down Paduyim Street, closely followed by a slowly moving Kia Niro.
Realizing they were targeted, the driver attempted to flee by reversing the car, crashing into an obstacle before abandoning the vehicle to escape on foot. Officers pursued the suspect through nearby residential courtyards and successfully apprehended him.
A subsequent police investigation revealed that the Kia Niro had been stolen shortly before in Hod Hasharon. Officers also recovered a computerized ignition device and a booster battery allegedly used to facilitate the thefts.
The three detained suspects include a 20-year-old undocumented resident of Nablus and two residents of East Jerusalem aged 19 and 24. All suspects were transferred to the Kfar Saba police station for questioning, and authorities intend to request a remand extension at the local court.
