Police will request a second extension of the detention of a 54-year-old northern resident suspected of murdering Caucasian mafia boss Yanis Yushaev in the Or Akiva and Sharon region. The suspect denies involvement and remains silent, while investigators have yet to determine who ordered the hit.

The family rejects the claims that Yushaev headed a criminal organization and argues that the nickname was attached to him due to his origin. According to them, he was a legitimate businessman and may have been murdered due to a case of mistaken identity. The suspect in the assassination denies the allegations against him and his arrest was extended until Wednesday.

The 54-year-old suspect, originally from Beit She'an, previously served several prison terms for property crimes, drugs, and weapons offenses. The court extended his remand until September 3.

MADA medics evacuated the victim to Hillel Yaffe Hospital while he was conscious, suffering from penetrating wounds. Police are investigating whether the incident is connected to the assassination of Yanis Yushaev, who was shot dead on Sunday near Caesarea. Two suspects were arrested in Hadera last night in connection with the murder.

Police initially believed they could identify the hitman as he did not hide his face. However, after reviewing security footage, investigators now believe he wore a special tight-fitting mask to appear as an elderly person. Authorities suspect a contract killer was brought in from abroad and may have already left the country.
