A heavyweight boxing match in Istanbul for the WBC Silver title ended in mass chaos on Saturday evening as fans, security personnel, and team members stormed the ring following a controversial conclusion. French boxer Mourad Aliev secured a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Turkey's Umut Camkiran at the Ulker Sports Arena.

The bout handed the 37-year-old Turkish fighter his first professional defeat after 25 consecutive wins, 23 of them by knockout. According to reports, the 31-year-old French victor celebrated by making a provocative gesture toward the stands, igniting fury among local spectators.

Camkiran initially approached Aliev, appearing to offer a sportsmanlike embrace before a physical altercation broke out between the two athletes. Within seconds, dozens of spectators breached security cordons, climbed into the ring, and launched a physical assault against Aliev, throwing punches and kicks.

Security staff and cornermen from both camps were quickly drawn into the sprawling brawl as chaos engulfed the arena. Footage circulating on social media showed individuals chasing one another around the ring amidst flying objects, with reports indicating Aliev also absorbed a headbutt.

Turkish media outlets noted that Aliev's gesture was perceived as highly insulting by the local crowd. Tensions had simmered throughout the bout, notably in the fifth round when Camkiran was docked a point for landing a punch after the bell.

The violent scenes sparked widespread condemnation across social media regarding security failures at the venue. Despite the scale of the ringside melee, authorities have not yet released official reports detailing injuries or arrests.

Aliev, a veteran of the Tokyo Olympic Games, is no stranger to dramatic ringside incidents. He was previously disqualified at the Olympics for an accidental headbutt, staging a 45-minute sit-in protest inside the ring. This time, championship glory was overshadowed by a much larger brawl.
