Stephen Curry Sets NBA Record With 41 Points in Warriors Overtime Win
Stephen Curry scored 41 points, including a historic performance past age 35, to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 126-119 overtime win against the Orlando Magic.

Stephen Curry continues to defy age, delivering a stellar 41-point performance to lead the Golden State Warriors to a thrilling 126-119 overtime victory over the Orlando Magic. Curry poured in 17 of his points in the final seven minutes, securing another remarkable milestone in his illustrious 18-year career.
This marked Curry's second 40-point game of the young season and the 77th of his career. More impressively, it was his 16th game with at least 40 points since turning 35, surpassing LeBron James (15) and Michael Jordan (12) for the most such games in NBA history.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lauded his star guard's longevity as extraordinary. When asked about the secret behind it, Kerr pointed to Curry's unmatched work ethic, good genetics, and rigorous physical preparation that keeps his body in peak condition.
Golden State needed every bit of Curry's brilliance against Orlando. The Magic erased a 16-point first-half deficit and grabbed a six-point lead in the fourth quarter, forcing Curry to hit a flurry of tough shots to drag his team into overtime, including 12 points in the final 2 minutes and 21 seconds of regulation.
"That was an impossible shot," Kerr marveled regarding Curry's frantic runner in traffic. "There was so much movement and congestion. To pull that off and bank it in—he is one of a kind. I don't know if anyone else in the world can make that play."
Though Jamal Cain tied the game for Orlando with a tip-in with two seconds remaining, the Warriors' depth prevailed in overtime. Kerr rested Curry at the start of the extra period, watching rookie Jaxson Landale and backup center Charles Bassey execute key plays to secure Golden State's seventh consecutive victory.
