Israel Police and Health Ministry Warn Public Over Meth-Laced Khat Drops
The Ministry of Health and Israel Police have issued an urgent warning after discovering methamphetamine in products marketed as natural khat drops, urging the public to avoid them.

The Ministry of Health and the Israel Police have issued an urgent public warning following the discovery of a dangerous synthetic drug marketed under the guise of natural products named "Khat Drops". Laboratory tests conducted on seized items revealed that the products contain methamphetamine, a highly addictive and life-threatening synthetic substance.
According to a joint statement by the police and the Enforcement and Inspection Division at the Ministry of Health, authorities identified the distribution of illicit drugs disguised as extracts derived from the khat plant. Officials expressed grave concern that consumers purchasing these products under the assumption they are natural remedies remain entirely unaware of the severe health risks involved.
The Ministry of Health reiterates that any extracts or preparations containing substances originating from the khat plant, including drops, beverages, and capsules, fall strictly under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance. Consequently, their consumption, marketing, and production are entirely prohibited by law.
Authorities urge the public to avoid purchasing or using any products marketed as khat derivatives, specifically including "Khat Drops", and call on citizens to report any suspected distribution or marketing activity to law enforcement agencies immediately.
