Two 13-year-olds have been charged after intentionally causing a swing ride to spin out of control at the Columbia County Fall Fair in Grovetown, Georgia, according to local reports. The incident left one woman injured and hospitalized, while two other children sustained minor injuries.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the two teenagers allegedly grabbed onto each other while sitting in separate seats on the rotating attraction. Deputies stated that staff members had previously warned the minors against such dangerous behavior. Investigators suspect this action destabilized the ride as it began to decelerate, causing the swings to violently collide.

A mother whose children were on the ride captured the incident on video and provided the footage to local media outlet WRDW. The recording shows the swings drifting dangerously toward each other during the slowdown phase. Specific details regarding the condition of the hospitalized woman have not been officially released.

The two juveniles were issued juvenile summons detailing the charges against them and were subsequently released to the custody of their parents. Exact charges remain unspecified by local authorities, and the publication of the video has sparked public debate regarding whether the teenagers' actions alone caused the mechanical instability.

Some social media commenters questioned how passenger interaction could cause such a violent loss of equilibrium, noting that no independent engineering assessment has yet been released. Under Georgia law, consequences for juvenile offenders can range from probation and community service to restitution or, in severe cases, juvenile detention.
