Pro-Palestinian Activist Replaces German Flag at Berlin Reichstag
A pro-Palestinian activist climbed a flagpole outside the Reichstag in Berlin, replacing the German flag with a Palestinian banner. Police arrested three suspects.

A pro-Palestinian activist scaled the national flagpole outside the Reichstag building in Berlin on Sunday, removing the German flag and replacing it with the Palestinian flag.
The 30-meter-tall flagpole, located at the western plaza of the Reichstag near the Brandenburg Gate, flies the "Flag of Unity" symbolizing German reunification. The Palestinian flag remained on the mast for over an hour before police and fire services intervened.
According to Berlin police, the 27-year-old suspect used professional climbing equipment to pull down the 60-square-meter German flag, discarding it onto the ground. The individual remained on top before being detained alongside two accomplices.
German authorities launched an investigation into the desecration of state symbols and holding an unapproved demonstration. Police confirmed the three suspects are German citizens without migration backgrounds.
Israeli Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor condemned the incident on X, stating that the flag was hoisted out of hatred toward Israel and opposition to democratic values.
