With screens instead of switches: the controversial Jaguar is revealed from the inside
The first car of the new Jaguar era is revealed from the inside, two months before the official launch. Similar to the exterior design, the cabin is also expected to spark controversy.

Jaguar has revealed photos of the cabin of the Type 01, the manufacturer's first car following a controversial rebranding that attempts to position the brand higher than before. It will be officially presented in two months, but for now, it is unclear when, if at all, it will be marketed here.

Under the slogan "It cannot be mistaken from any angle," which Jaguar uses for its design renewal, the British manufacturer notes that they have chosen a small touch screen to control the vehicle's main systems. This contrasts with most manufacturers who have responded to public criticism and brought back physical switches for systems such as air conditioning and audio. On the other hand, the absence of a large central multimedia screen, which has become common today, is notable; only the screen in front of the driver will serve as the instrument cluster.
Also prominent is a console that divides the cabin along its entire length, effectively separating those sitting on the right and left, with space for only four passengers and a fixed sunroof. Jaguar does not explain, beyond a design decision, whether this choice has any practical benefit. They also mention travertine stone as inspiration for the design, including the color palette and minimalist look. It should also be noted that there will be no rear window, and instead of a mirror, there is a screen displaying the feed from a rear-mounted camera.
As previously reported, the Type 01 will use a new and dedicated platform called JEA (Jaguar Electrified Architecture). A powertrain with 1,000 hp from three electric motors—two at the rear and one at the front—allows for all-wheel drive with torque vectoring.
The battery capacity will be around 120 kWh, which should allow for a driving range of about 650 km. The use of high voltage will allow for ultra-fast charging (about 350 kW), adding 320 km of range within 15 minutes.
