The dramatic decision was made following planned structural changes to the property, which do not allow for the continued operation of the culinary institution in its current layout.
The restaurant's owner, Shimon Babu, stated that in recent months negotiations were held with the Gav-Yam company to renew the lease agreement. However, in recent days, the company decided to build an entrance lobby for offices in the building, using a significant portion of the restaurant's area. The practical implication would have been a prolonged cessation of operations and a complete reconstruction of the entire place, which led the owners to decide to terminate the engagement.
Despite leaving the historic corner, the restaurant's management emphasizes that this is not the end of the road for the beloved brand, but rather a transition and renewal. The owner noted that negotiations are underway to find an alternative space with the goal of opening the restaurant in a new location. "We announced that the engagement will end on August 27, and in the near future we will update on the new location," emphasized Babu.
