War Crimes

The Serbian militia commander passed away at the age of 83 after being convicted of war crimes for commanding the forces that carried out the Srebrenica massacre during the Balkan wars. He was arrested in 2011 after years of hiding under a false identity.

The Hind Rajab Foundation has appealed to the US Department of Justice ahead of Arieh King's expected visit to the country, attributing to him "war crimes" and "incitement to genocide." As of now, the US Department of Justice has not announced the opening of an investigation against King, who told Walla: "Antisemitism under the guise of human rights activity."

The Syrian Foreign Minister announced that the country is working to locate and prosecute senior officials of the fallen regime who were responsible for the use of chemical weapons against civilians. While memorial events are held across the country in memory of more than 1,400 victims, Damascus clarifies: "We will bring the perpetrators to justice."

The Hind Rajab Foundation claims an Israeli currently traveling in India was involved in the destruction of civilian property in the Khan Yunis area. Exceptionally, the organization did not release the soldier's name or unit. This is the second such complaint filed in India in less than three months.

Waseem Badia al-Assad, cousin of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, received a death sentence for murder, torture, and crimes committed during the civil war. He is in custody in Syria and was present in the courtroom during the sentencing, which was broadcast live.
