Or Akiva

A 25-year-old man was killed Thursday evening in a car explosion on Highway 4 near Or Akiva. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected criminal assassination.

Parents in Or Akiva are outraged after the Ministry of Education placed 39 first-grade students in a single classroom. The incident highlights severe crowding issues across Israeli schools.

Police will request a second extension of the detention of a 54-year-old northern resident suspected of murdering Caucasian mafia boss Yanis Yushaev in the Or Akiva and Sharon region. The suspect denies involvement and remains silent, while investigators have yet to determine who ordered the hit.

The family rejects the claims that Yushaev headed a criminal organization and argues that the nickname was attached to him due to his origin. According to them, he was a legitimate businessman and may have been murdered due to a case of mistaken identity. The suspect in the assassination denies the allegations against him and his arrest was extended until Wednesday.

MADA medics evacuated the victim to Hillel Yaffe Hospital while he was conscious, suffering from penetrating wounds. Police are investigating whether the incident is connected to the assassination of Yanis Yushaev, who was shot dead on Sunday near Caesarea. Two suspects were arrested in Hadera last night in connection with the murder.

A man about 45 years old was critically wounded by gunfire at a gas station near the Caesarea interchange; his death was pronounced at the hospital. A manhunt for the suspects who fled is underway; the background is believed to be criminal.
