Chef Yuval Ben Neriah is breaking into the international market. He is set to establish a Japanese food chain in Europe under the Fast Casual category, offering a swift alternative to traditional Japanese dining. The venture, backed by an investment of approximately 10 million euros, will debut its first branch in Vienna.

His partner in the project is Alon Armer, an expert in marketing and business development, alongside an international group of investors. The project also involves Japanese entities to ensure a direct supply chain of high-quality fish and seafood. Ben Neriah stated that the goal is to bring the standards and premium ingredients of Japanese cuisine to a fast and accessible format. The locations will feature limited seating, focusing primarily on takeout.

Unlike renowned chefs such as Eyal Shani, Assaf Granit, and Meir Adoni, who have expanded abroad, Ben Neriah — owner of Taizu, Cafe Taizu, and the new Yama deli — has operated exclusively in Israel until now. The project has been in development for nearly two years, involving professional trips to Japan, meetings with local producers, and the establishment of an international supply chain.

Simultaneously, in Israel, dishes from Taizu are now available for home delivery or pickup via Wolt for the first time.

"We are working around the clock on our new chain project in Europe, a project I have been dreaming of for a long time that will bring an uncompromising Japanese standard to the European audience," said Ben Neriah.

This week, it was also revealed that Ben Neriah has become a partner in a new boutique hotel, House of Delray, located in Tel Aviv's Kerem neighborhood. He will help shape the culinary concept and overall hospitality experience, with chef Maayan Simcha leading the onsite restaurant.
