New York police are investigating another nocturnal breach into Manhattan's underground sewer infrastructure following an emergency call reporting suspicious activity in Hamilton Heights. Authorities deployed extensive search operations in the subterranean tunnels to determine if the incident is linked to a series of recent underground incursions across the city.

According to police sources, officers responded to a residential building on West 141st Street after an eyewitness spotted three men descending into a manhole around 1:00 AM. Despite an immediate sweep of the pipeline network, responding units failed to locate the suspects, as reported by local media outlets.

This incident follows a similar breach days earlier on the affluent Upper East Side, where roughly five individuals emerged from a manhole on East 82nd Street before fleeing in a waiting vehicle. Investigators now suspect a coordinated modus operandi involving underground foraging and tracking.

Law enforcement revealed that some suspects reportedly drop valuables into drainage systems, attaching Apple AirTags to trace the items through the subterranean flow and retrieve them later using specialized diving equipment. Last month, two 25-year-old men were arrested and charged with trespassing and conspiracy after being spotted entering sewer grates.
