UK to Establish State Inquiry Into Deadly Manchester Synagogue Attack
Britain announced a state inquiry into the Manchester synagogue terror attack during Yom Kippur, as political debates on antisemitism intensify.
The British Home Secretary, whose son is named Mahmoud, announced today (Monday) the establishment of a state inquiry commission to investigate the terrorist attack in which Adrian Dolby and Melvin Kravitz were murdered. The two worshippers at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue in Manchester were killed during Yom Kippur prayers last year.
The attack was carried out by the terrorist Jihad Al-Shami, a 35-year-old British citizen of Syrian descent, who was shot and killed by police at the scene. Reports in Britain indicated that Al-Shami shouted to officers that he carried out the attack on behalf of the ISIS terrorist organization.
Secretary Mahmoud told lawmakers that a state inquiry commission "will ensure that all evidence is heard, including sensitive national security materials that could not otherwise have been fully presented." This comes as left-wing parties in Britain cross the boundaries of antisemitism, with one of them, the Green Party, declaring Zionism to be "racism."
