Yinon Magal, Amit Segal or Ayelet Shaked: Who do Likud members want on their party list?
In a survey conducted by Dr. Nimrod Nir of the Agam Institute, party members and voters were asked to rank candidates for reserved spots on the Likud list. The results highlight significant differences between the preferences of party members and the broader electorate.
In a survey conducted by Dr. Nimrod Nir of the Agam Institute, published on Tuesday, Likud members and voters were asked about the party's list for the upcoming elections. The survey examined which individuals the participants would like to see granted a reserved spot, requiring each respondent to rank eight candidates.
Results among party members
Deputy Minister Almog Cohen topped the list with 39.3% of the vote. He was followed by activist and publicist Yosef Haddad (35.9%), and lawyer David Peter and diplomat Ron Dermer, who both received 31.1%. In fifth place was Itzik Bonzel, father of Amit Bonzel who fell in battle in Gaza (29.8%).
Several military figures also featured prominently, including Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter (29.3%) and Gal Hirsch, who served as the coordinator for captives and missing persons during the Iron Swords War (28.9%). Other notable names included Amir Avivi, founder of the Habithonistim movement, Iftach Ron-Tal, and Marco Moreno.
Media figures also received significant support, with Kinneret Barashi receiving 26.7% and Erez Tadmor 21.1%. The list also included Yotam Zimri, Yaakov Bardugo, Amit Segal, and Gadi Taub. From the political sector, Gideon Sa'ar received only 13.2%, despite reports that he had already secured a reserved spot.
Results among voters
While some candidates overlapped, there is a fundamental difference between the choices of party members and the general electorate. Yosef Haddad took first place with 44.3%, while commentator Amit Segal rose to second place with 33%—a sharp increase from his 11.4% among party members.
Among military figures, Ofer Winter placed third (30.4%), followed by Gal Hirsch, former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen, and Amir Avivi. Among media figures, Yinon Magal performed strongly with 22%.
Compared to the members' list, the voters' list showed a broader presence of politicians. Dadi Simhi placed fourth with 22.5%, followed by Almog Cohen (22%). Ayelet Shaked was also selected, alongside Ron Dermer and Moshe Kahlon. Hadar Muchtar, who did not appear on the members' list, received 16.1%, and former soccer player Eli Ohana received 13.4%.
