Israeli and Polish Foreign Ministers Discuss West Bank Diplomatic Convoy Attack
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar spoke with Polish FM Radosław Sikorski after settlers attacked a diplomatic convoy in the West Bank, amid broader discussions on trade and regional security.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar spoke with his Polish counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, following an attack on a diplomatic convoy in the West Bank by Israeli settlers, which included Polish diplomats.
According to the Polish Foreign Ministry, Sa'ar updated Sikorski on police actions and arrests made following the incident. During the conversation, Israel also raised Poland's joining a UK-initiated statement signed by 12 nations calling for restrictions on trade in goods originating from Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories. Sikorski emphasized that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are not part of Israel and that Israel's status as an occupying power imposes obligations under international law, particularly regarding the protection of civilians.
They also discussed Russian support for Iran, as well as the security situation in the Middle East and Europe. Regarding the war in Ukraine, Sikorski stated that international pressure should be increased on Russia rather than Ukraine.
The conversation between Sa'ar and his Polish counterpart follows an incident that occurred on Saturday near the Palestinian Christian village of Taybeh in the Ramallah area, where seven masked settlers attacked Palestinians harvesting olives as well as diplomatic representatives from France, Belgium, and Poland.
