Yemeni Government Forces Advance Against Houthis in Marib Province
Legitimate Yemeni government forces have advanced in the central Marib province, seizing vital Houthi positions and securing control over key strategic areas following intense clashes.
Forces of the legitimate Yemeni government have achieved significant territorial gains in the central province of Marib, according to sources who spoke on Wednesday to the Saudi Al-Hadath channel.
A Yemeni military official reported that government forces advanced across multiple fronts in the province, targeting positions held by the Houthi terrorist organization. Backed by aerial reconnaissance, the forces achieved a breakthrough in both the northern and southern sectors, seizing vital positions.
The official added that government troops successfully outflanked Houthi positions in northern Marib amid intense exchanges of fire. Dozens of Houthi operatives were casualties in the fighting, with government forces securing control over the Al-Aqd al-Ramli area and several other strategic points.
In recent days, the legitimate Yemeni government forces reported taking control of areas in northeastern Yemen previously considered Houthi strongholds. In response, the Houthis launched missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia, accusing the kingdom of carrying out a series of airstrikes against them.
