Towards a union with Winter? Yoseph Haddad leaves his position: "New challenges"
The prominent advocacy activist announced that he is stepping down as CEO of "Together - Arabs for Each Other" after eight years. The timing of his departure comes ahead of the launch of Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter's party on Tuesday, which Haddad may join. Lorina Khatib will take his place at the head of the organization.
Advocacy activist Yoseph Haddad announced today, Sunday, the end of his tenure as CEO of the organization "Together - Arabs for Each Other," eight years after he founded it. This announcement comes at an interesting point in the political system — just days before the launch of Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter's new party, which is expected to take place this coming Tuesday. Sources close to Haddad estimate that his departure now is intended to allow for his possible integration into the new list.
In addition, Haddad emphasized the organization's work within the Arab society, with an emphasis on introducing the subject of Holocaust remembrance through projects such as "Zikaron BaSalon" (Memory in the Living Room) in Arabic and sending delegations to Poland. "We voiced with pride and determination a different Arab voice, a voice that says we are proud to be Arabs and Israelis," wrote Haddad, noting that all the activists in the organization, and he at their head, worked over the years on a fully voluntary basis and without pay.
Lorina Khatib, who has been his partner on the path since the days of its establishment, is expected to take Haddad's place in managing the organization. "I am leaving the organization in good hands," concluded Haddad, "even if I am no longer there - it will continue to grow, to be part of the social landscape in the country and to lead important and brave change."
To the question of "Hayom" whether Yoseph Haddad is expected to take part in the new party, Winter replied: "Patience."
