The United States has issued fresh security alerts for its diplomatic missions across the Middle East, including the embassy in Jerusalem, citing intelligence regarding Iranian plots targeting American officials in the region. The warnings, which also cover diplomatic posts in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain, urge U.S. citizens to maintain heightened vigilance and prepare for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and rapid military escalation.

In addition to the threat against American personnel, the advisory highlights a growing menace from the Houthis in Yemen, following a series of attacks on airports and vital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia that resulted in casualties and widespread disruptions. Last month, the Director of National Intelligence warned that Iran has significantly intensified efforts to target Americans abroad, with several assassination plots reaching advanced stages. The U.S. government has already ordered a reduction in diplomatic personnel at several missions in the region.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem advised citizens to familiarize themselves with the locations of nearby protected spaces and to download the Home Front Command application, while noting that consular services in Israel continue to operate as usual. Meanwhile, the Houthi movement accused the Saudi-led coalition of carrying out a deadly strike in the Taiz governorate, claiming that more than 30 civilians were killed or injured in an attack on a local market.
