Association Linked to Fink Transferred Funds to Organization Supporting His Primaries
Democrats party candidate Yaya Fink transferred hundreds of thousands of shekels from Histadrut funds to HaHalutz movement associations. Members of the movement, who hold senior positions in the party, actively promoted Fink on the party list.
Last week it was revealed how Democrats party candidate Yaya Fink transferred hundreds of thousands of shekels from Histadrut funds to the associations of the HaHalutz movement. Members of this movement, who are senior figures in the Democrats party and manage the party's political circle called "Tlamim", ensured Fink's promotion on the party list.
The HaHalutz movement was established by the Kibbutz Movement, and is managed by Avishai Ben-Aharon, one of the most powerful people in the Democrats party and the figure behind the support base for Knesset member Naama Lazimi and Yaya Fink.
Fink is not the only one who transferred funds to the HaHalutz movement to win its support. Kati Piasecki, a Bat Yam municipal council member who ran for the Democrats, also secured the support of Ben-Aharon and his followers, allowing her to surpass candidates such as MK Efrat Rayten.
Piasecki's husband, Dror Morag, Deputy Chairman of the World Zionist Organization and head of the Department for Social Involvement and Tikkun Olam, is also closely linked to HaHalutz. As chairman of the Nitzan Fund, he granted 45,000 shekels a few months ago to Avishai Ben-Aharon for a HaHalutz project promoting young women to leadership positions.
Furthermore, beyond the funds transferred via the Histadrut, the "HaIsraelim" association, founded by Fink, also provided funding to HaHalutz. According to documents from the association, which was established to promote integrity in Israel, 2.5 million shekels were allocated for "ideological training", the "HaHalutz scholarship fund", and grants. Notably, Fink previously used "HaIsraelim" to raise 1.6 million shekels to support Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, over half a million to combat Mordechai David, and nearly 300,000 shekels for political propaganda against Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Consequently, MK Avichai Boaron has turned to the State Comptroller, claiming:
"A suspicion arises that Yaya Fink used his position to transfer money to a person who acts with him in the political field and who promoted him in the primaries. This conduct stands in contrast to election laws and election integrity, and even raises serious criminal suspicions."
