Restaurant owner arrested, seven illegal aliens located in a warehouse in Kafr Manda

Seven residents of the West Bank who were in Israel without legal residency permits were arrested in Kafr Manda after being located in a warehouse during an operation by detectives of the 'Erez' unit of the Northern Border Police. The investigation revealed that the seven were employed at a large restaurant in the town, and the business owner was arrested on suspicion of employing and housing them.
The operation took place as part of enforcement against offenses of employing, housing, and transporting illegal aliens. All seven were transferred for questioning at the central unit of the Northern Border Police.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that the business owners had posted footage on social media showing the illegal aliens working at the restaurant. The police noted that these posts strengthened the evidentiary basis against the suspects.
On July 30, prosecutor's statements were filed against the business owner and the seven illegal aliens. The court granted the police's request and extended their detention by five days, ahead of the filing of indictments and requests for detention until the end of proceedings.
At the same time, the Northern District Commander, Commissioner Meir Eliyahu, signed two administrative closure orders for 30 days: one for the restaurant and the second for the structure where the illegal aliens were housed. The police stated that Border Police fighters and Northern District officers will continue to act against employers, housing providers, and transporters of illegal aliens.
