US school guide sparks outrage - and disappears: '9/11? Because of Israel'
The largest Muslim-American organization in the US released a school guide justifying the 9/11 attacks due to 'US support for Israel' and recommending Osama bin Laden's antisemitic manifesto. The Jewish community was outraged: 'This is not inclusion - this is dangerous propaganda.'
The largest Muslim-American civil rights organization in the United States (CAIR) distributed educational materials as part of their educational activities, in which they blame Israel for the 9/11 attacks and the US for 'state-sponsored Islamophobia' following the events. This was reported last night (Friday) by the New York Post newspaper.
The organization published its annual 'Back to School Guide' on Monday for students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The guide contained a link detailing the outrageous claims - but it was inexplicably removed the following day.
Screenshots obtained by the New York Post show that the 16-page guide linked to a page that claimed the 9/11 attacks, in which about 3,000 Americans were murdered, were not planned by Islamic terrorists, but by a 'group that defines itself as Al-Qaeda coming from the mountains of Afghanistan'.
Justified attack
In the removed educational material, under the heading 'Curriculum for Islamic Studies', it was claimed that the worst terrorist attack on American soil was justified due to 'US support for Israel', and blamed America's involvement in the Persian Gulf War and the 'extensive presence' of the military throughout the Middle East.
CAIR also blamed the US response for an 'aggressive turn in American domestic and foreign policy' that ignited the war on terror in the Middle East and caused an 'erosion of the civil liberties of many Americans'.
'Although Islamophobia and racism against Muslims existed even before the 9/11 attacks, this period marked a sharp turn in US policy and state-sponsored Islamophobia in the US and abroad. There was an immediate backlash against anyone perceived as Muslim' wearing traditional clothing, the document stated.
The guide claimed that Muslims were unfairly targeted by the media, and contrasted this with 'white supremacists' or 'extremist animal rights activists' who they claimed were spared a backlash when they used 'violence to advance their cause'.
'Israel has nothing to do with it'
Nicholas Haros Jr., who lost his mother Frances on 9/11, was horrified but not surprised by the 'vile propaganda', as he shared with the New York Post. 'Israel had nothing to do with 9/11', said the relative, who previously attacked Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for her statement that 'some people did something' on that terrible day.
'As we move further away from 9/11, this new generation of children will learn to blame our country. These children are going to be poisoned - and that is the intention'. Lessons in schools about 9/11 can create an 'especially dangerous period for Muslim students', who often 'experience a wave of bullying during lessons on this topic', according to a press release from CAIR, which has even been designated as a foreign terrorist organization in Texas and Florida.
Bin Laden's will
CAIR's resource recommendations for students included Osama bin Laden's manifesto, 'Letter to America'. The leader who led the 9/11 terrorist attack claimed there: 'Your law is the law of the rich and wealthy, who hold influence in their political parties and finance their election campaigns with gifts. Behind them stand the Jews, who control your policy, media, and economy'.
The guide distorted bin Laden's origins, describing the terrorist as a former US ally in the same struggle for Afghanistan against the Soviet invasion in the 80s. Among the brave 'rebels' was 'a man named Osama bin Laden', who together with 'the people who were later destined to form the Taliban', they wrote.
The organization's school guide even defended the introduction of international topics into classrooms as a catalyst for 'promoting understanding'. This, while ignoring the atrocities of Hamas in the October 7, 2023 massacre, in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered, including dozens of children. The CAIR guide did deal with how to talk to children about 'genocide' and Gaza.
When The Post approached CAIR with the question of whether they stand behind the document dealing with 9/11, CAIR did not deny the removal of the link, and referred the newspaper to an attached note that vaguely explained changes in the previous document.
'Not inclusion - dangerous propaganda'
Jewish community leaders are furious. 'CAIR has turned into a national curriculum a document that refused to call the 9/11 perpetrators terrorists, instructs to read Osama bin Laden's 'Letter to America' as mandatory reading in high school, and instructs 5-year-olds about Gaza - without mentioning Hamas or October 7. This is not inclusion - this is dangerous propaganda', raged Moshe Shafran, president of the Jewish Teachers Association.
The CAIR organization, founded in 1993, was linked to Hamas in 2008 when US authorities successfully sued five leaders at the Holy Land Foundation For Relief and Development, a non-profit organization from Texas that has since been closed, for transferring more than 12 million dollars from the US to the terrorist organization.
