MK from United Torah Judaism against religious Zionism: "Torah and service? Unforgivable"
MK Uri Maklev has sharply criticized the religious-Zionist sector. He stated that the attempt to combine Torah study with military service is causing significant damage to the Torah world.

MK Uri Maklev of Degel HaTorah was recorded today, Monday, launching a sharp attack on the religious-Zionist sector.
"The people of religious Zionism, who said that it is possible to both study Torah and serve, that it is possible to study Torah and do other things — this will not be forgiven them. They introduced this, and it is a great damage that we are dealing with," he stated. Documentation of the remarks is provided at the beginning of the report.
In a speech delivered before many students, the yeshiva head addressed the struggle over the character of the Torah world and the attempts to integrate additional tracks into it. "Torah study is our right to exist, and one must not mix it with other things," he said.
He further criticized religious Zionism: "They said, 'We study Torah, but it is possible to do it alongside service.' This is the thing, this great damage, that we are dealing with."
