"A ballot for United Torah Judaism and Shas is a ballot for the thugs of the Jerusalem Faction": The "Haredi Public" party announced it will run for the Knesset
Party chairman Moti Leitner attacked the Haredi leadership: "Haredi society is facing an existential threat." The campaign will focus on issues of enlistment, mathematics and English studies, and employment. The list will include Ashkenazim, Sephardim, and Hasidim.
The "Haredi Public" party announced today (Sunday) that it will run for the 26th Knesset and launched its election campaign at an event held in Beit Shemesh. Hundreds of party activists, rabbis, and public figures participated in the event.
The party stated that the list for the Knesset will be composed of Ashkenazim, Sephardim, and Hasidim. The campaign will focus on preserving the world of Torah and promoting solutions for issues of enlistment, integrating mathematics and English studies into Talmud Torah schools, and employment solutions. The party's platform and its detailed plans will be presented in the coming weeks.
Party chairman Moti Leitner said at the launch event: "Responsibility is a supreme value for the Haredim throughout all generations. Unfortunately, the veteran political leadership has forgotten what responsibility is."
According to him, "In the last three years, the State of Israel has been at war on many fronts against our enemies who have risen up to destroy us, a war that began with the terrible massacre that reminded each and every one of us what responsibility is."
"Thousands of Haredim mobilized and enlisted, came to assist, and tried to help with everything they could," he added, "but it seems that the heavy disasters bypassed the heads of the disconnected political leadership."
"When a party leader danced to the sounds of 'In the rule of the infidels we do not believe' while in those very minutes the entire people of Israel were informed of the fall of holy warriors in battle, this was not a mistake, but a policy — a policy that turned disconnection and stupidity into a path," he said.
"We must look reality in the eyes — Haredi society is facing an existential threat," he noted. "Our streets are being handed over to extremists who compete among themselves as to who will use more severe violence. Yeshiva students are being persecuted by the authorities, daycare budgets are being frozen — and the leadership continues to engage in preserving its power instead of solutions."
"We are in the midst of a head-on collision between Haredi society and the entire people of Israel. A collision whose results are disastrous for us, for the members of the Haredi public, and for the entire State of Israel," he said. "The failure and the dangerous collision are not a decree from heaven. The failure is the result of a dangerous process of radicalization that the veteran political leadership has undergone."
According to him, the guilty ones are "the representatives of United Torah Judaism and Shas who followed the extremists of the Jerusalem Faction, who turned a violent and marginal faction into the policy-makers for the existing political representation, and we are all experiencing the results on our own skin. A ballot for United Torah Judaism and Shas is a ballot for the thugs of the Jerusalem Faction."
"In order for the society of learners to be able to continue to exist and prosper in the Land of Israel, we must look straight at reality and deal with the enlistment crisis, poverty, and discrimination," he emphasized. "Whoever studies will receive absolute and full protection. Whoever does not study — will serve. Not just a Haredi brigade will be established — a Haredi division will be established. This is the only way to protect the world of Torah."
