Former Netanyahu associate estimates: Yair Netanyahu is the next reserved spot: 'Depends on Sara'
Nir Hefetz, former spokesperson for the Prime Minister, estimates that Benjamin Netanyahu may reserve a spot for his son on the Likud list. At the same time, he claims that the primary results are mainly 'damage control.' In his assessment, the list appeals primarily to those who already support Netanyahu anyway.
Nir Hefetz, former spokesperson for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, spoke with Anat Davidov and Gideon Oko on 103fm and estimated that the Prime Minister will reserve a spot for his son on the Likud list for the next Knesset.
"In my opinion, Benjamin Netanyahu, as usual, will throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's a guess. Around the 15th spot, you will see a very, very 'attractive' figure whose name also answers to the name Netanyahu. Let's see if I'm right, I hope by the way that I'm not."
When asked if he thinks Netanyahu will reserve a spot for his son, Hefetz replied: "I think so. It depends on whether Sara wants to or not. I haven't been in contact with her for many years, but I estimate that yes. It could be that I am also wrong, you know to whom prophecy was given."
Regarding the primary results, Hefetz said that "it is damage control. After all, we knew what the pool of candidates was, so if I take the whole list, he got the lesser of two evils."
"The bigger question is whether you go to the grocery store with this list, if this is what will give him the bottom line on election day," said Netanyahu's former spokesperson. "I am sure the answer is no. This list certainly does not help him, one can argue whether it lowers the result or not."
He explained why, in his opinion, the Likud list is not attractive:
"If there were democratic elections in Russia today, what would be the central issue they would discuss? The continuation of the war with Ukraine and Putin — yes or no. Therefore, he believes that the list itself is not very relevant to voters. "Not if Amir Ohana is in second place or Nir Barkat is pushed to the back of the list. Those who moved to Chili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel, or those who sit on the fence, are not those who are considering voting for Gilad Erdan.
