Former Shin Bet official announces joining Yisrael Beiteinu
An educator and former senior security official expresses firm support for Avigdor Lieberman for Prime Minister. In his remarks, he criticizes the current government and explains his decision to enter the political arena.

Dvir Kariv, a former Shin Bet official and educator, is joining the Yisrael Beiteinu party and expressing strong support for Avigdor Lieberman for Prime Minister.
"For decades, I worked to protect the State of Israel. In the Shin Bet, I fought against terror, incitement, and extremism, and I educated my students to love the country, to take responsibility, to think critically, and to perform meaningful service," stated Dvir Kariv.
Dvir notes that this step was not easy for him, but emphasizes that in recent years, the citizens of Israel have paid a heavy price. He recalls that his students fell in the war, families lost their loved ones, and soldiers and reservists carried the country on their shoulders. He sharply criticizes the current administration: "And on the other hand, a government that failed and refused to take responsibility."
Dvir details the reason he chose to join this specific party, describing Yisrael Beiteinu as the political home suitable for his worldview:
"Right-wing, Zionist, security-oriented, national, and liberal. A party that believes in strength and decisiveness against enemies."
He adds that the party acts in the spirit of equality before the law, the burden of service, individual freedom, and public responsibility.
"I chose Avigdor Lieberman because Israel needs an experienced, sober, and determined leader who knows how to make difficult decisions and stand by his principles. I am joining to fight extremism, strengthen education, work for those suffering from PTSD, and above all, to help heal the rifts in the nation," concluded Dvir.
