Amitai Perel, a 12-year-old boy from Atlit who deals with autism, arrived for an official visit with the United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee. During the meeting, the boy managed to leave the experienced ambassador stunned, thanks to his phenomenal historical and diplomatic knowledge, exceptional eloquence, and great self-confidence.
The video of the meeting opens with a touching moment where Ambassador Huckabee presents Amitai with an official pin and declares with a smile:
"I hereby declare you an ambassador of the United States of America."
Amitai, who appeared excited yet composed, shook the ambassador's hand with the eloquence characteristic of veteran diplomats.
During the conversation, Amitai shared his great passion for history, diplomacy, and international relations. "I enjoy reading, learning, and discovering new things," Amitai said in fluent English. "I want to understand how countries can work together." When asked about his future aspirations, his answer was unequivocal: "I want to be a diplomat, maybe even a prime minister or a foreign minister."
