Terror at a cafe in the Sharon region: "Glass shattered, we thought it was a terror attack" | Watch

Moments of terror occurred on Monday afternoon at a cafe in Mishmar HaSharon, after a private vehicle drove onto the sidewalk, smashed through the storefront, and entered the premises. Eyewitnesses report that the incident miraculously resulted in no injuries, as two women sitting near the point of impact managed to escape just seconds before the collision.

MADA teams were dispatched to the scene and provided medical treatment to the young female driver, who was examined on the spot. The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.

Hadar Aviel, who was in the cafe at the time, described the panic:

"I was sitting in the cafe and suddenly we heard a crazy boom. We jumped from our seats and saw that a car had simply entered the storefront. We were sitting on the lower level, and the vehicle hit exactly the area where two women were sitting. By luck, they managed to escape. People started screaming, and many were convinced that it was a terror attack."

Another eyewitness noted that one of the women was saved by a miracle: "While I was talking to her, the vehicle entered exactly the place where she was sitting. It was a matter of seconds. There was a very loud boom, and by a miracle, nothing happened to her."

Gal Zinger, another witness, said he was initially convinced it was a security incident:

"I was sure it was a terror attack. I went out immediately in an attempt to help. When I reached the car, I saw the driver was very frightened. Everything happened within seconds."

According to testimonies, the vehicle drove onto a high sidewalk before colliding with the front of the cafe, which heightened the sense of shock among the diners. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
