Mandate poll: The tight battle for the premiership revealed
Current data from an i24NEWS poll shows that Gadi Eizenkot is closing in on Benjamin Netanyahu in suitability for the role, while Naftali Bennett is lagging behind and the coalition is recording a slight strengthening in the general balance of mandates in the Knesset.
Against the backdrop of security tensions and the criticism directed at the Likud party and Benjamin Netanyahu's associates following the propaganda video circulated against Gadi Eizenkot, a new mandate poll was published on Monday, presenting an updated picture of the political blocs in Israel.
According to the i24NEWS mandate poll conducted by Direct Polls, the ruling party receives 29 mandates, Gadi Eizenkot's party garners 21 mandates, and The Democrats led by Yair Golan have 10 mandates. The Beyahad party, led by Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, stands in fourth place with 9 mandates. The Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu parties each receive 9 mandates separately.
The poll also shows that the United Torah Judaism and Otzma Yehudit parties have 8 mandates each. The Joint List with Balad has 7 mandates, Religious Zionism achieves 5 mandates, as does Ra'am. The Gantz and Simhi union, the Tropper and Hendel union, the Economic party, and Zehut do not pass the electoral threshold.
Gadi Eizenkot and Benjamin Netanyahu are almost neck-and-neck in suitability for Prime Minister, with 45% for Benjamin Netanyahu against 44% for Gadi Eizenkot. Naftali Bennett is at only 37% suitability when facing Benjamin Netanyahu (47%). At the bloc level, the coalition bloc rises by one mandate compared to our last poll to 59 mandates, while the opposition bloc together with the Arab parties drops by one mandate and stands at 61 mandates.
