Shufersal Replaces Super-Pharm with Be Pharm at Haifa Mall
Shufersal is replacing a longtime Super-Pharm branch in Haifa's Lev HaMifratz Mall with its 99th Be Pharm store, leveraging its majority stake in the property to expand the drugstore chain.

Shufersal-owned drugstore chain Be Pharm is set to open its 99th branch at the Lev HaMifratz Mall (Cinamall) in Haifa, taking over the prime location previously occupied by its major rival, Super-Pharm. The strategic site near the Check Post junction and railway station is a rare instance of a Super-Pharm anchor store being replaced in a major shopping center. Industry analysts note that shopping mall managements traditionally retain Super-Pharm branches due to their high foot-traffic generation.
The relocation behind the scenes was driven by Shufersal's controlling stake in the mall. Through its LARO real estate arm, Shufersal owns 59 percent of the shopping center. When Super-Pharm's long-term lease expired, Shufersal opted not to renew it, choosing instead to utilize the prime retail space for its own Be Pharm brand following extensive renovations.
Despite initial market speculation that controlling owners Yossi and Shlomi Amir planned to divest from Be Pharm due to past losses, the leadership has prioritized the chain as a key growth engine. Under CEO Eitan Seida, Be Pharm is accelerating its nationwide rollout and expanding its portfolio of international brands.
Shufersal maintains a robust real estate portfolio valued at 5.5 billion shekels across a total area of 251,000 square meters. Alongside supermarket properties and shopping centers such as Cinamall and commercial hubs in Rehovot, the real estate arm continues to support the group's retail expansion strategy.
