Watch: Is this Ofer Winter's first hint about his political future?

A mysterious billboard placed in Tel Aviv has raised quite a few questions: "Soon you will have someone to vote for," it reads, alongside the date 25.08. Against the backdrop of growing assessments that Ofer Winter is launching an independent party, this unusual message is already raising suspicions: is this the first sign before an official announcement?

In fact, we were the first to report that Winter has begun reaching out to a number of figures in an attempt to form the list for the party he seeks to establish. Among the names that have come up are Lali Deri, a bereaved mother whose son, Staff Sergeant (res.) Saadia Yaakov Deri, of blessed memory, fell during the fighting in the Gaza Strip, as well as Menachem Kalmanzon, an Israel Prize laureate, who, upon the outbreak of the October 7 massacre, went out together with his brother Elhanan to assist in rescuing residents in the Gaza envelope. During the rescue operations, Elhanan was killed by terrorist fire.

It is important to emphasize that this does not mean that the two accepted the offer. According to sources familiar with the details, they also examined other options, and Kalmanzon apparently decided at this stage not to enter politics. However, the very names that Winter approached may indicate the direction he seeks to chart: a list based on new faces from outside the political system, with figures of public character and cross-sectoral appeal. Winter, for his part, denies the report, but according to our sources, the approaches were indeed made.
