Not just Nvidia: Salesforce and CrowdStrike surged after reports

Salesforce and CrowdStrike shares surged in after-hours trading following quarterly reports that beat analyst expectations. Both companies have raised their annual guidance.

Not just Nvidia: Salesforce and CrowdStrike surged after reports

Salesforce jumped 13% in after-hours trading following strong reports and an encouraging forecast. The company finished the second fiscal quarter with revenue of 11.35 billion dollars, a growth of 11% compared to the same quarter. Analysts expected 11.32 billion dollars. The net profit of the cloud-based customer relationship management software company stood at 3.53 billion dollars, compared to 1.89 billion dollars in the same quarter, a jump of 87%. The adjusted profit stood at 5.90 dollars per share, a gap from market expectations, which stood at only 3.27 dollars per share. Salesforce's free cash flow jumped 81% to 1.10 billion dollars, well above market expectations, which stood at only 643.2 million dollars. The forecast presented by Salesforce for the third quarter stood at an adjusted profit of 3.42-3.44 dollars per share, and revenue of 11.42-11.50 billion dollars. Analysts' expectations stand at a profit of 3.38 dollars per share and revenue of 11.41 billion dollars. The company, which is part of the Dow Jones index, upgraded its annual revenue forecast to a range of 46.1-46.4 billion dollars. Its previous forecast, published in May, stood at a range of 45.9-46.2 billion dollars. Salesforce closed yesterday at a value of 164 billion dollars - the stock has lost 22% since the beginning of the year.

At the same time, CrowdStrike jumped 10.5% in after-hours trading. The cybersecurity company concluded the second quarter with record revenue of 1.47 billion dollars, a growth of 26% compared to the same quarter. The revenue line was higher than analysts' expectations, which stood at 1.44 billion dollars. CrowdStrike's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) rose 25% compared to the previous year and totaled 5.84 billion dollars. The company added a record net annual recurring revenue of 333 million dollars during the quarter. CrowdStrike moved to a quarterly net profit of 5.3 billion dollars, compared to a net loss of 70.2 million dollars in the same quarter. The adjusted profit stood at 31 cents per share, market expectations stood at 29 cents per share. The company raised its annual forecast to revenue of 5.99-6.01 billion dollars and an adjusted profit of 1.25-1.26 dollars per share. Analysts' expectations stand at revenue of 5.93 billion dollars and a profit of 1.23 dollars per share. CrowdStrike's market value closed yesterday at 192.6 billion dollars, the stock has jumped 62% since the beginning of the year.
