Kolmobil and Timnat Win 70 Million Shekel Kibbutz Hatzor Solar Tender
Kolmobil and Timnat won a tender to build a 9.2-megawatt solar and storage facility over Kibbutz Hatzor's reservoir. The 70 million shekel project targets late 2028 operation.

Kolmobil and Timnat, an energy company controlled by Major General (res.) Israel Ziv, have won a tender issued by Kibbutz Hatzor to construct a combined solar facility featuring an energy storage system over the kibbutz wastewater reservoir. The facility will boast a capacity of 9.2 megawatts, while the storage system will reach a capacity of 68.4 megawatt-hours.
Each company will hold a 50% stake in the project, with total investments projected at approximately 70 million shekels and commercial operation scheduled to begin by the end of 2028. The Hatzor reservoir, located near Gan Yavne, contains reclaimed wastewater originating from a nearby treatment plant. Solar panels will float across the reservoir surface, and additional photovoltaic cells will be installed along its slopes.
According to company estimates, revenues for the first year of operation are expected to total roughly 10.5 million shekels. The electricity generated by the facility will be sold to private power suppliers, who are anticipated to pass on a portion of the discount to private and business consumers. The installation is set to produce 15.7 million kilowatt-hours annually, roughly equivalent to the yearly power consumption of about 2,000 households.
