Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen has approached senior Likud officials through intermediaries to explore the possibility of securing a reserved spot on the party's list for the upcoming elections. The approach was made via representatives rather than directly by Cohen.
Cohen held senior positions, including serving as head of the Mossad from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as head of the National Security Council and National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel. His name has frequently appeared in media reports as a potential addition to the Likud list, though this has not yet materialized.
We reached out to Yossi Cohen several times for comment but were unable to obtain a response. The official statement from Likud reads: "We are not aware of any such thing. There has been no approach by Yossi Cohen to Likud, nor by Likud to Yossi Cohen."
