"Yes to a Palestinian state": Who is behind the giant signs on the Ayalon Highway?
The "Standing Together" movement has launched an outdoor campaign in Tel Aviv and other locations across the country, aiming to bring negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians back to the national agenda.
Giant signs bearing the message "A peace government will bring change. Yes to a Palestinian state alongside Israel" were hung this morning, Thursday, on the Ayalon Highway and at other locations across the country. The initiative is part of a new campaign by the "Standing Together" movement, calling on the next government to renew negotiations with the Palestinian leadership.
The campaign was launched after years in which no negotiations took place between the sides. The movement seeks to place the renewal of political contacts on the agenda and calls on the next government to act to promote a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
The signs hung this morning are the first step in the campaign. According to the movement, additional actions are expected in the coming days across the country and in the digital arena, intended to strengthen the demand for the renewal of peace negotiations.
The "Standing Together" movement stated:
"Any government that will be established here will not be able to escape the truth: there are 7.5 million Jews and 7.5 million Palestinians in this land. Both peoples love this land and belong to it, and both deserve to be free. Only a peace agreement between the peoples will ensure the lives of all of us here. A peace government will bring change."
