Former Gaza Captive Omer Shem Tov Reveals Complex Longing for Captivity

Former Gaza captive Omer Shem Tov has revealed that he sometimes misses the captivity period due to the deep spiritual connection and lack of distractions he experienced.

In an interview with Channel 12, Shem Tov explained that the total isolation from daily life allowed him to connect profoundly with himself and God, a state he finds difficult to replicate amid modern distractions.

Despite the harsh conditions, he emphasized that gratitude became his main takeaway, noting that he recites the Modeh Ani prayer every single morning upon waking.

Shem Tov also stated during the interview that, based on what he witnessed, there are no innocent civilians in Gaza.
