The IDF has classified the incident as severe. The Bashan Division has initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances, examining how the terrorist managed to approach the outpost and the events leading up to the infiltration attempt.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated: "The IDF will continue to operate in the security zone in southern Syria and remove any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces."
Simultaneously, local sources in Quneitra reported that an IDF patrol entered the village of al-Asbah in the southern rural area of the Quneitra governorate. It remains unconfirmed whether there is a connection between the village activity and the infiltration attempt.
