"We will help them emigrate": Ofer Winter visited the Gaza envelope

The "Amha Yisrael" party, led by Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter, held its first meeting on Monday at Kibbutz Be'eri. The visit was led by Sigal Kraunik-Atiya, a party member and widow of the late Be'eri security coordinator Arik Kraunik, who fell on October 7 in the battle to defend the kibbutz. During the visit, party members toured Kibbutz Be'eri and the Nova site, and held a discussion with regional security coordinators.

During the visit, Ofer Winter issued a statement:

"It is important that we look at this house behind us that remains as a remnant, so that we understand what must not happen. We are talking about emigration and a swift victory. These are not slogans. This is what must happen so that the message to everyone is clear: there are things that cannot be done to us.

Is it possible to carry out emigration? Absolutely. It is possible to help them emigrate. They very much want to leave here, and we must do it. The second thing is a swift victory. The fact that today we are holding a huge number of service members, with people already on their 6th or 7th round of reserve duty, stems from the lack of the swift victory we are talking about. The IDF's security concept was a swift victory. Release the reservists home! Their role is to be at work, to develop the economy, and to do real things, not to be in the reserves for their whole lives. This is our way. What was — will not be."

"Amha Yisrael" party member Yoseph Haddad stated:

"I receive messages from Gaza residents who tell me: open the gate for us. We will open the gate for them. I rely on you, Ofer, to do it. Our enemies must be spoken to in their language, and that is exactly what you will do as Minister of Defense. This is what the "Amha Yisrael" party has come here to do: to fix this concept and restore full security to the residents of the State of Israel from the north to the south."

Sigal Kraunik-Atiya added:

"We will no longer accept balloon terror that burns our fields. We will not accept containment. We must promote emigration from Gaza, and Ofer is the only person capable of promoting such a plan. As Minister of Defense, he will not tie the hands of the IDF, and the army will have freedom of action. As a commander who knows the field and has led fighters, you are the main figure capable of doing this. This is the reason why I chose to leave my simple life and join."
