A confrontation took place today between right-wing activist and chairman of the "Brothers for Justice" organization, Mordechai David, and Knesset member Merav Ben-Ari. David documented the encounter and uploaded the video to social media, where he is heard hurling a series of critical remarks at Ben-Ari.
During the confrontation, David told Ben-Ari that "the clucking chicken will not be in the next Knesset." He went on to criticize her relationship with Knesset member Ahmad Tibi and asked her why she is "buddying up with Ahmad Tibi," while also referring to the chairman of Ra'am, Mansour Abbas, and claiming that he "cannot call Hamas a terrorist organization."
Later in the conversation, David said, "They are blocking your car today." Ben-Ari replied that she had arrived at the location by bicycle, to which he responded: "No problem, we will block your bicycle."
Accompanying the video, David wrote: "The chicken, MK Ben-Ari, swallowed her tongue. Suddenly, she only clucks in the Knesset. She will yet be blocked in memory of all the chicken coops in the north."
Ben-Ari responded on social media: "He hadn't had a bicycle yet. Probably for at-risk youth. I was walking near Habima and Mordechai David was screaming at me. This is the first time I have encountered this phenomenon up close. Since I have worked with at-risk youth for many years of my life, there is no doubt that he needs professional help. The screaming was mainly 'chicken' and 'Ahmad Tibi', and then a threat that he would block my car. I clarified to him that I am here with a bicycle, that's it. In October we will replace them and fix things for everyone."
It should be noted that contrary to Ben-Ari's cynical remark that "he hadn't had a bicycle yet," Mordechai David has previously been documented in a confrontation with a person riding a bicycle. In that case, which received wide exposure on social media, David met actor Idan Alterman on the streets of Tel Aviv, blocked his path while he was riding home, and confronted him over his views.
