Miri Nevo admits: "A really not good mental state"
The Champions League and sports studio presenter confesses about the complex moments after the breakup of the legendary pop group, and explains how this very low point became the professional compass that launched her new career.
Today she is considered one of the leading sports broadcasters in Israel, the face of the Champions League studio and Olympic broadcasts, having firmly established herself in a field that was reserved for years for men only. But Miri Nevo's path began at the peak of the entertainment world, as a member of the legendary pop group "Mango" alongside Michal Zafir and Yasmin Gamliel.
Despite the title of "Band of the Year" and the glittering success from the outside, the internal feeling was completely different. In a revealing interview on the podcast "In Her Shoes" hosted by Sivan Shark, Nevo returns to the complex days after the band's breakup and confesses to the personal price:
"At the end of Mango, I admit, I was in a really not good mental state, because I was inside a place where I didn't find myself. It didn't suit my personality."
Precisely that low point became the professional compass that guides her to this day. "From that low place I understood one clear thing: I must engage in what I love," she explains.
Nevo continued by saying that her choices should not be based on what is "right," "efficient," or "necessarily successful." "It needs to come to me from passion, from interest and motivation, from something that really excites me and I want to wake up to in the morning. The bottom line is not to be afraid to connect to what you love. And yes, there were voices from all directions."
This insight led her to a sharp turn in her personal career, which in retrospect established her status as one of the most stable and respected figures in Israeli media. She has been hosting the sports edition on the Sports Channel for years and is considered one of the most beloved broadcasters.
