IDF Soldier and Singer Maya Dadon Faces Disciplinary Action Over Election Post
Israeli singer and IDF soldier Maya Dadon faces disciplinary action after posting a uniform-clad photo at a polling station with a Likud ballot slip during elections.

IDF soldier and young Israeli pop singer Maya Dadon is facing disciplinary action after posting a photo on Instagram in her military uniform inside a polling station during the 26th Knesset elections, which clearly displayed a Likud party ballot slip.
The post, published on Tuesday, featured Dadon standing behind a voting booth ballot box with the party's "Mahal" ballot slip visible, accompanied by the caption: "Go out and vote, every single vote counts!!"
Minutes later, Dadon deleted the original story and uploaded a replacement image without the visible ballot slip. According to reports, that image was subsequently removed as well. The presence of the slip does not definitively prove her final vote.
The IDF stated that soldiers are strictly prohibited from using their military status or uniform to express political views. The Military Spokesperson's Unit confirmed that Dadon is expected to face a disciplinary hearing for violating military regulations.
"The soldier in question will face disciplinary measures in accordance with regulations," the IDF spokesperson stated, emphasizing that the military is a state and non-political institution where political symbols and uniform use are strictly banned on social media.
