May Golan on Abbas following Channel 14 investigation: "He attacked me obsessively"
Likud Minister for Social Equality and the Advancement of the Status of Women, May Golan, commented on Thursday on Channel 14 correspondent Omri Haim's investigation, "Mansour Abbas, the Polite Jihad." Golan stated that the Ra'am chairman attacked her obsessively during the "change government" era, alleging that he and Naftali Bennett funneled billions without proper oversight.
Minister for Social Equality and the Advancement of the Status of Women from the Likud party, May Golan, commented on Thursday on the comprehensive investigation conducted by Channel 14's Arab affairs correspondent, Omri Haim, in his film "Mansour Abbas, the Polite Jihad," which examined the Ra'am chairman and his ties to the Islamic Movement. Among her remarks, Golan noted:
"This is the same Mansour Abbas who attacked me obsessively."
She was referring to the days of the "change government" when, according to her, Abbas, together with Naftali Bennett, funneled "billions without oversight and control" in a questionable manner.
According to Golan, the investigation exposes the truth about Abbas:
"The shocking exposure in Omri Haim's investigation on Channel 14 about Mansour Abbas, who views Israel as a 'Zionist enemy' and calls Jews 'invaders,' reveals the truth about someone who is whitewashed and protected by the panic channels as a 'Care Bear' — all so that he can form a dangerous extreme-left government with his natural partners. How good it is to have a free media channel."
Golan accused Abbas and his party of contributing to crime in Arab society:
"Mansour Abbas, who is unable to say in his own voice that Hamas must be destroyed, stands at the forefront of the fight against anyone trying to cut off the oxygen supply to criminal organizations. It is no coincidence that he sent Mazen Ghanaim to petition the Supreme Court against the historic move I led together with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister Ben Gvir to bring the Shin Bet into the fight against criminal organizations in coordination with the police. And it is no coincidence that from every platform he pledges that he will cancel this move if, God forbid, he returns to power."
As recalled, this week the documentary film about the Islamic Movement, "Mansour Abbas, the Polite Jihad," was broadcast on Channel 14. Since then, the film has sparked numerous reactions from senior figures in Israel's public system. Alongside Minister Orit Strock, Avi Maoz, Almog Cohen, Moshe Feiglin, and others have also responded to the film.
