Buffet Dispute: Loyal Maccabi Tel Aviv Fan Files Lawsuit
Zion Balas, a long-time worker at the Maccabi Tel Aviv training facility, has filed a lawsuit against the club. He claims he is being wrongfully evicted from the buffet he built and is seeking compensation.
"He is a simple man who found a neglected shack, made it functional, and operated a buffet in it for many years," this is written in the statement of claim filed by Zion Balas against the Maccabi Tel Aviv football club.

"A modest source of income" — this is how the statement of claim filed by Balas through attorney Shay Elias begins: "The plaintiff, Mr. Zion Balas, is a simple man who does not know how to read or write, who dedicated decades of his life to the defendant and the training complex in Kiryat Shalom. Over the years, the plaintiff was a permanent, well-known, and devoted figure at the complex, arrived there every day, assisted in maintenance work, cleaning, arranging, caring for the fields, equipment, and every action that was required, accompanied the defendant in various activities, and saw the defendant as a home, a place of identity and belonging."
