Linor vs. Guy Meroz: The stormy confrontation over the connection between Abbas and Hamas

An especially stormy confrontation took place this evening (Sunday) in the studio of the program "The Patriots" on Channel 14, when panelists Irit Linor and Guy Meroz clashed over the figure of Ra'am chairman, Mansour Abbas. At the beginning of the discussion, Linor referred to the leaders of the left-wing bloc in recent years and claimed that they were all kicked out after only one term, regardless of their origin or gender. Later, she turned to Meroz, who plans to vote for Abbas, and criticized his decision.

During the discussion, Linor turned to Meroz and wondered how he is able to warmly embrace what she defined as the "supposedly curly and flowery things" that Mansour Abbas does, while ignoring the clear fact that he belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood movement. Linor emphasized that Abbas has met with Hamas members in the past, and clarified to Meroz that these are the friends of the Ra'am chairman, and that it is impossible to ignore this just because it is politically inconvenient for the left-wing camp.

Meroz did not remain silent and interrupted Linor's words, claiming that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the one who funded Hamas. Linor replied firmly that even if, according to his view, Netanyahu acted this way, it is Mansour Abbas for whom Hamas constitutes "his guys".
