Leeds United delivered a masterclass at Elland Road on Monday, crushing Newcastle United 4:1 in the match that concluded the fourth matchday of the Premier League. Daniel Farke's side dominated from the opening whistle, displaying high intensity, pressing the Magpies, and continuously penetrating dangerous areas.
After over half an hour of scoreless play, the turning point arrived in the 32nd minute when Ao Tanaka unleashed a shot that deflected off Lewis Miley and into the net as an own goal, giving Leeds the lead. Newcastle barely had time to recover before a second goal followed just two minutes later. Dominic Calvert-Lewin rose to head the ball toward the goal, with a slight touch off Jayden Bogle sending it in, though credited to the latter. Continuing their relentless pressure, the hosts added a third in first-half stoppage time when Calvert-Lewin used his strength to shake off a defender and clinically finish to make it 0:3 at halftime.
Following the break, Newcastle failed to find any answers. Tactical changes from the visitors did little to halt Leeds' control, and in the 60th minute, the match witnessed its finest strike.
