Dor Turgeman Shines as New England Revolution Defeats Chicago Fire 2-1

Dor Turgeman continued his impressive MLS campaign, leading the New England Revolution to a 2-1 away victory over the Chicago Fire and Robert Lewandowski. The Israeli striker opened the scoring and provided an assist, marking his third multi-goal contribution game of the season.

Turgeman gave the visitors the lead in the 39th minute. Jackson Yueill cleared the ball from his own box and launched a counter-attack, allowing Turgeman to beat defender Sam Rogers, race toward goal, and precisely beat Chris Brady into the corner. This was his seventh goal of the season and his third in his last five matches. Just two minutes into the second half, Turgeman received another through ball from Yueill, drove into the box from the left, and delivered a low cross to Peyton Miller, who tapped it in from close range to make it 2-0.

Maran Haile-Selassie pulled one back in the 62nd minute for Chicago, and thought he scored again four minutes later, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Chicago applied heavy pressure until the final whistle, registering 21 shots compared to just four for New England, but Matt Turner and the defense successfully contained Lewandowski and held on for the win. Ilay Feingold came on for Turgeman in the 81st minute to help secure the result. New England, which has won four of its last five away matches, remains third in the Eastern Conference with 43 points, two behind Inter Miami.
