Minister Ze'ev Elkin reveals offer from Avigdor Lieberman

Minister of Finance Ze'ev Elkin revealed today (Monday) in an interview with Oded Menashe that he received an offer from Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman to join his party. Elkin emphasized that even if he is not elected to a realistic spot in the Likud primaries, he has no intention of leaving: "I am not going anywhere anymore."

During the interview, Elkin described that during the period when he and his colleagues were considering joining the government, he received offers from several opposition parties. According to him, these were intended to prevent the move, "with promises of a safe spot in the next Knesset."

Later in the interview, Elkin addressed his relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the political crisis the two experienced in recent years. He emphasized that the October 7 massacre changed his priorities: "You suddenly gain an understanding of what is more important and what is less important."

Elkin claimed that since the two returned to working closely together in the cabinet, he has even retracted some of the things he said in the past about Netanyahu:

"Things I said about him were incorrect in the test of reality, and I apologize for them."
